Mary Sue's Story
Life
Other people tell me I have had a interesting life...that may be so, but non-the-less I have enjoyed living it. I was a late bloomer and began my years of formal education in the early 70's and spent 22 years as a psychotherapist specializing in the treatment of alcohol/drug addiction/abuse and family members affected by the illness of chemical dependency. My offices were located in Waukesha, WI and Oconomowoc, WI at that time. In 1990 my husband and I relocated to Northern WI to see if we were going to really like living in the North Woods enough to eventually retire there. We did love the 12 years we lived with the deer and the bears and the eagles in our yard. Our nearest neighbor was 3 miles away, the sunsets and sunrises and storms over the lake were spectacular. Unfortunately though, my very healthy and robust husband, Jon, developed severe heart problems and after surgery to correct what problems the doctors could correct, we relocated to Arizona where the doctors felt he would do better and live longer. Fortunately, we had 3 children already living in Arizona and they have loved having us so close to them. We visit the 2 children and grandchildren, family and friends we had to leave behind in...Expand for more
Northern Wisconsin as often as we can. We still miss all the seasons of the North Woods but we also thoroughly enjoy the beauty of the desert and mountains. We now live in the foothills of the Superstition Mountains and even after 3 years we are still awed by the majesty of what God created here in the Southwest. Jon and I have 5 exceptional children, 16 grandchildren and 1 great-grand daughter...so far. We keep busy attending sports events of the younger grandchildren (as we did for the Wisconsin grand children) and graduations from either high schools or universities. Jon can still golf, thank goodness! Unfortunately, I have a debilitating form of arthritis so have had to give up most of my very physical pastimes. I still have dreams of riding my horses again. I am sure that there is a well trained horse out there somewhere...that will carry me safely....who is beyond the need to throw its rider periodically.
To whomever reads this very short form of my bio.....HELLO to you!! I remember many of you who graduated with me in 1960 and have often wondered how many remember me. I was a fairly quiet girl ....can still tend to be that way now. I hope your lives have been happy and fulfilling ones.
